Here's today's sermon . as promised ! :DThe Beginnings of LeadershipSelf-leadership is the greatest leadership.
Proverbs 16:32
' Better a patient man than a warrior ,a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city . '
You and I are three part beings . We have a body , Spirit and a Soul .
Our spirit and soul goes to heaven ; but our body decomposes .
Our spirit and soul get a new body in heaven .
Animals do not have a spirit [ that's why they are not capable of worshipping . ]
The spirit and Flesh are always at war .
The Spirit always wants to worship God .
The Flesh always wants to enjoy life .
If you are not a Christian ,
there is no war between the Spirit and the Flesh .
Because your Spirit is dead ,
Your spirit doesn't want to worship .
Your soul will cast the last deciding vote . Your Soul is very important .
YOUR SOUL HAS THREE PARTS !
1. Emotions
2.Mind / Intellect
3.Will
self-leadership is leadership over your emotions , mind and will !
3 points to note :
1. you got to take leadership over your emotions .
-We do not need to be ruled or dictated by our emotions
Philippians 4:4
'Rejoice in the Lord always ,
again I say Rejoice . '
In the most desperate of time , REJOICE !
Joy is the fruit of the spirit .
Happiness depends on the circumstances .
It has to do with people around you , or things happening around you
Joy on the other hand has to do with the spirit and with emotions .
Take leadership over your emotions .
Life is like a roller coaster, take control of your emotions .
You must not leave your emotions with your friends
people or random things in your life .
SO..
TAKE LEADERSHIP OF YOUR EMOTIONS !
Habakkuk 6:17-18
' Yet i will rejoice
the joy is the God of my Salvation . '
2) take leadership over your mind
Our mind has many noises of noises of self-doubt , stress or many other things
It takes no effort to be negative
Negative thoughts easily HIJACK OUR FOCUS
Being positive makes you different
if you want to grow weeds in your garden , do nothing with the garden .
If you want to grow PLANTS , it takes effort .
You want to set your mind on positive thing.
Bringing every thought into captivity and
bring it into the obedience of Jesus Christ .
Don't entertain negative thoughts , catch it and put it into captivity
You are in control of your mind . so Stop the negative stuff .
God has given us a mind to be in control of .
colossians 3:2
' Set your minds on things above , not things on the earth . '
We have the power to take leadership and erase negative thoughts .
God's frequency is always Faith .
Dwell on the things of God ;
His thoughts are always higher than our thoughts .
Change the way you think !
Sometimes or mind gets hijacked by the people around us .
your mind is often preoccupied by people's thoughts around us .
God has given us the power to take emotion of our mind .
Your mind gravitates to negative
9 people can say you are good but when 1 person
says you are bad , your attention draws to that 1 person
and you get distracted by it .
SO !
If you can set your mind on God and progress ,
You can go on in life !
So what are you waiting for ?
Don't keep God waiting ! (:
